WordPress is the official successor of the blog, developed by Michel Valdrighi. The name WordPress was suggested by Christine Selleck, a friend of lead developer Matt Mullenweg. More simply, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it. A WordPress Theme is a collection of files, called Template files, that together make a graphical interface and design for a weblog. These files draw information from your WordPress MySQL database and generate the HTML code which is sent to the web browser. Each of these Template files can be configured for use under specific situations. The template files and the style sheet are stored together as a WordPress Theme. So, how use these the templates? There are many free wordpress templates you can download in internet. To every theme should be enclosed instruction. Please read and follow those instructions for the successful installation of the theme.
To add a new theme to your WordPress installation, follow these basic steps:
Download free wp templates templates and extract the files it contains. Follow the instruction provided by your theme author.
Using an FTP client to access your host web server, create a directory to contain your theme in the wp-content/themes directory provided by WordPress.
Upload the theme files to the new directory on your host server.
Follow the instructions below for selecting the new theme.
You can create your own Themes and provide alternative free templates for wordpress specific site features, such as category pages and search result pages.
