Clickmusic.com says the number of people downloading the music tracks that make up its chart will grow bigger than the number of people buying singles in shops.
The site says its latest number one song was downloaded 14,000 times in one week in the UK - compared to about 50,000 singles needed for a single to reach number one in the mainstream chart.
But their figures have been questioned by industry figures.
Clickmusic’s chart is compiled from downloads from many of the biggest legal MP3 sites on the web.
Unlike controversial song-swapping service Napster, all downloads are legal because all songs are submitted by the artists themselves or sites on which they appear.
It is seen as a good way for relatively unknown bands to get exposure - but it does feature songs by some more recognised artists including Eminem, Beck and The Offspring.
“If the chart continues to expand at this rate, within 12 months over 200,000

music fans will be involved, every week, with the number one getting played by over 100,000 people,” says Clickmusic managing director Becky Lancashire.

In another aesthetic reference to the Le Mans 24 Hours race, the engine-turned surface of the bezel is inspired by the dashboard finish of the Bentleys which won the race five times between 1924 and 1930: the 3 Litre Bentleys,
the 4 1/2 Litre, the 4 1/2 Blowers and the Speed 6.

Inspired by motor-racing, the Bentley Le Mans chronograph is equipped with a variable tachometer, another exclusive Breitling replica watch feature.
Used in conjunction with the chronograph, this device enables one to measure average speed, whatever the time elapsed, the distance covered or the speed reached.
In much the same way as a slide rule, the variable tachometer is activated by the rotation of the outer bezel, which drives a pinion and arbor acting on the inner bezel.
This clever mechanical solution guarantees precise read-off of the measured speeds.
The Bentley Le Mans chronograph is an imposing 48.7 mm in diameter, making it the largest of all Breitling chronographs.
However, thanks to its ingenious construction, it can adapt to most wrist sizes: a hollowed recess in the case enables the bracelet to swivel freely on its axis to ensure a perfect fit on the wrist.

In addition to the limited series of 1,000 in steel, this collector’s chronograph also comes in a yellow gold version, issued in three series of 24 worldwide.
